Conversations with My Gardener
After turning fifty a Parisian painter decides to return to his roots and move back into his childhood home in the centre of France. The property is surrounded by a large garden which he has neither the talent nor the desire to care for. His advertisement gets him back in touch with an old friend from the area who he takes on as his gardener. Brushing shoulders with him everyday, the painter discovers an intriguing character who marvels him with his frank and simple outlook on life...

Garth Davis's debut feature is an emotional drama starring Dev Patel, Nicole Kidman and Sunny Pawar, based on the memoir A Long Way Home by Saroo Brierley. Five-year-old Saroo (Pawar) is out with his brother Guddu (Abhishek Bharate) hunting for lost change in train carriages, when he falls asleep on a platform bench. He wakes up alone, panics and boards a train. But the train does not stop until Kolkata - over 1,500 miles away. The vast and teeming city is hard enough for adults to navigate, but for a five-year-old boy who cannot speak the language, it's impossible. But he survives long enough to be adopted by Australian couple Sue (Kidman) and John (David Wenham). Two decades later, Saroo (now played by Patel) is leading a happy, fulfilled life in Tasmania. But curiosity about and longing for where he came from and the family he lost lurks just below the surface. And it is the Indian treat jalebi that acts as the Proustian trigger to kick start Saroo's search. But will he be able to find his lost family? And what effect will it have on his adopted parents?
