De Amerikaanse tenorsaxofonist Stan Getz trad op in bebop- en cooljazzgroepen en hielp bossa nova populair te maken in de VS. In 1983 speelde hij in Napa Valley in Californië met bassist Marc Johnson, drummer Victor Lewis en pianist Jim McNeely.
